See how NYSC mourn late corps members in Nasarawa state



Management and staff of the National Youth Service Corps as well as serving Corps members nationwide are mourning three corps member who died in Nasarawa State last Sunday.
In a statment signed by the management of the scheme, two of the deceased, Oguntola Wasiu Babatunde (NS/16B/4044) and Danjuma Jamil Salihu (NS/16B/0175), died as a result of drowning in a river at Assakio in Lafia East Development Area, where they had gone swimming.
Another deceased corps member, Memunat Ahmad Yarwa (NS/16B/4280), died from complications during childbirth.
According to the statement, “the scheme grieves over the loss of the heroes, especially coming when they were in their primes and contributing towards strengthening unity and national development. 
They will continue to be remembered for their patriotic zeal, selflessness and dedication to the service of our fatherland.”
Management also announced the release of another Corps member, Nwankpa Blessing, who was kidnapped in Nasarawa State.
The statement stated that the corps member was in good health, and was being given all the necessary physical and psychological support.
Management of the scheme thanked the Nasarawa State Police Command for effecting the rescue of the Corps member.
